Baggish Rolls Through Field in Philly
In just his second CDC event, Florida’s Danny Baggish etched his name into the history books as he claimed his first title in the tenth and final ranking event on the 2019 Magic Darts Championship Darts Circuit.
The PDC North American Darts Championship winner, who turned heads by recording three 110+ match averages in Saturday’s play only to fall short to Danny Lauby in the Last-16, stormed through the field in Philadelphia and dropped only eight legs en route to darting glory.
En route to the title, Baggish enjoyed a series of victories over the likes of Paul Burns (5-0), Joe Chaney (5-2), Dave Richardson (5-1), Jeremiah Millar
(6-1), Chuck Puleo (6-2) and Joseph Huffman (6-2) in a high-quality final. His overall event average of 95.14 highlights the clinical consistency he exhibited on the day. Note also that, of the six scalps he claimed on the way to victory, two belonged to 2019 CDC champions, one to a quarterfinalist in the 2019 BDO World Trophy and one to the 2018 overall CDC Tour Champion.
In terms of the 2020 PDC William Hill World Darts Championship, Ontario’s Matt Campbell will join Darin Young and Danny Baggish in London. Campbell qualifies as the top-ranked Canadian in the 2019 CDC Tour Points List.
