We began with a single dart player and a simple mission — to bring high-quality equipment to fellow competitors. In the mid-1980s, John Baxter, then the top-ranked darts player in the United States, began selling supplies at tournaments. His passion for the sport, combined with his first-hand knowledge of what players truly need, laid the foundation for what would become one of the most trusted names in darts.
In 1989, John opened Magic Darts & Billiards in Sacramento (an homage to his “Magic Man” darts nickname), transforming his side hustle into a thriving specialty shop. Over the years, the business evolved with the times — launching a robust e-commerce platform rebranding as A-ZDarts.com, expanding into a spacious 11,000 sq. ft. facility, and building a loyal customer base across North America and beyond.
What has never changed is the heart behind the business: a dedication to the darting community. From first-time throwers to world-class pros, A-Z Darts exists to serve as a trusted guide, resource, and advocate. We believe in making the game more accessible, more enjoyable, and more respected — one order, one conversation, and one tournament at a time.
