After wins over Jason Brandon, Alex Spellman, and Christie, Sevada widened his lead in the 2025 Tour Points standings and took another step toward securing a trip to the PDC World Darts Championship.

Stowe Buntz claimed his ninth career CDC title and fourth of the 2025 season on Saturday night, defeating Alex Spellman 7–3 in the final of the CDC Showdown in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
In a grueling evening under the “win-by-two clear legs” format, Buntz was dominant – dropping only 10 legs in the event and never being pushed to extra time. After dispatching Joey Lynaugh 6-2 in the quarterfinals and dominating Leonard Gates 7-1 in the semifinals, he delivered a commanding performance in the final to halt Spellman’s bid for a Saturday sweep.
Spellman had lifted the Cosmo Darts Championship title earlier in the day but couldn’t replicate the magic in the nightcap. His path to the final included a 6-1 quarterfinal win over Kiley Edmunds and a hard-fought 7-5 victory over top-seeded Adam Sevada in the semifinals. The Canadian produced a composed 6-0 whitewash of Nick Linberg in the quarterfinals and followed with a 7-4 victory over two-time Continental Cup champion Leonard Gates in the semifinals before closing out the title against the eighth-seeded Taylor.
Jacob Taylor earned his spot in the final with a 7-5 semifinal win over Chris McHargue and a 6-4 quarterfinal victory against Kiley Edmunds. Taylor also was second in 180s on the day behind only Doug Boehm, who fired in 14 before falling just short against Gates in a last-leg quarterfinal thriller.
McHargue impressed with a run to the semifinals—his deepest finish yet on the CDC Tour—taking out David Cameron in the last-16 and then Kaidon Newberry in the quarters. Cameron, despite leading the field with a 92.93 average, was again denied a deep run after running into inspired opposition early.
With three unseeded players reaching the quarterfinals, the event showcased the increasing depth and competitiveness across the CDC landscape as the race to the Continental Cup and World Championship qualification continues to tighten.
